Egg Crochet Free Pattern

Eggs Crochet Pattern

Introduction
This is not the greatest egg pattern in existence, but it’s pretty serviceable and produces a useable, egg-shaped egg. To make this, the pattern starts at the bottom of the egg and gradually decreases going up. If you get lost on the round counts, just try to decrease as you work along, and you’ll be all set.
I’ve included the stitch counts at the end of each one of the rounds for those who prefer to count stitches obsessively rather than use a marker. I get it, I’m one of them.
Also, be sure to pack as much stuffing as possible into this egg, or it’s going to be pear shaped. If you’re using beans, start by pouring in enough beans to fill the egg approximately halfway, then pack stuffing in for the remainder of the filling. I highly recommend using beans or some other weight at the bottom of the egg.

Supplies
    DK/Sport Weight Yarn
    Size E Crochet Hook
    Stuffing
    Yarn or Tapestry Needle
    Beans or poly pellets (optional)

Special Stitches
sc2tog--Single crochet two together: Insert hook into first sc stitch. Draw up a loop. Insert hook into next single crochet stitch. Draw up a loop there, too. Pretend that the two loops are one single loop that you’ve pulled up as the first loop of a single crochet. Finish the loop as normal.
If you’re someone who knows how to do the invisible decrease, you can substitute an invisible decrease for sc2tog, although I’m not going to try to explain how to form an invisible decrease here.
